Malcolm appears in the 1881 census, aged 7, the son of Angus and Anne (both aged 50), and brother of Anne (21), Catherine (14) and Angus (11). In 1891, Malcolm is aged 18 and living at 65 South Bragar, with his parents, both now aged 60. Also present is his sister Catherine (24), as well as sister-in-law Mary and her childeren Ann (3) and John (1).
