Kenneth first appears in the 1891 census of Breasclete, aged 6, the son of George (33) and Christina (31), and brother of Chirstina (5) and Chirstina-Ann (3) as well as Alexander (8 months). A decade later, Kenneth has become a postman, aged 16, and has four more younger siblings, Duncan (8), Malcolm (6), Catherina (4) and Mary (1).
His brother Duncan was in the US Army; Alexander in the Seaforth Highlanders and Malcolm in the Royal Garrison Artillery. These three all survived the war.
