His brothers John and Donald also served in the RNR, but survived the war. Donald clung to mast of
the wrecked Iolaire for 8 hours until he was rescued.
Angus appears in the 1901 census aged 15 at 7 Knockaird, with his parents Donald (47) and Jessie (40) as well as siblings Henrietta (17), John (11), Gormellia (8), Annie (5) and Donald (2).
