Stornoway Gazette
It is with much regret that we chronicle the death of John Macleod, son
of Widow Mary Macleod (Ferguson), 6 Eoropie, which took place at Glasgow
2 weeks ago [25 April 1918]. John was gassed in France and discharged
from the army. Since then, he was working in Kinlochleven and was on a
visit home for a few days before he went to Glasgow to undergo an
examination for a pension. He got a chill, probably on the journey,
which developed into a pneumonia. His remains were taken home.
