Served with Gordons, discharged with strained heart, resulting from lifting heavy sandbags in trenches. Joined Navy.


Of his brothers, John drowned off Calais in 1916. Donald, Donald and Norman junior survived the war after serving in the RNR. Norman senior served in the Canadian forces between 1916 and 1918.
