Kenneth was one of the children of Angus (1838) and Annabella (1855), the others being Allan (1886), Donald (1875), Isabella (1878) and John (1881).He was married to Christina (1892), and had one child with her, Donald Alex (1915).

The sad news of the drowning of her husband was received by Mrs Macaskill, 6 Gravir, on 19th February 1918, his ship being torpedoed on the 12th February. Kenneth Macaskill joined the RNR two years ago. He leaves a widow and one child. He was a pleasant and intelligent young man, whose death is greatly lamented by all who knew him. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family. Mrs Macaskill is the daughter of Mr Alex Smith, Free Church officer.
