We find Donald in the 1901 census, aged 7, at 28 Habost. He is the son
of John (44) and Catherine (39) and brother to Catherine (16), Jessie
(13), Annie (9) and Allan (5).
His brother Allan was killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 whilst also serving with the Seaforth Highlanders.
