Angus was one of the children of Kenneth (1835) and Ann (1840), the others being Ann (1859), Christina (1872), Christina (1876), Christina (1868), Isabella (1870), John (1874), Kenneth (1885), Marion (1878) and Mary (1864).Kenneth was previously married to Isabella Macleod (1843), who died in 1868.
Angus's brothers John and Kenneth served in the RNR, but survived the war.
