Roderick appears in the 1901 census, aged 6, at 23 South Bragar, with his
parents Angus (43) and Catherine (44) as well as siblings Murdo (13),
Alexander (12), Eric (10), Donald (4), Catherine (2½) and Angus (16
months).
Roderick was in Drake Bn (RND, C/629) from 16 September until 27 October 1914, then drafted to Portsmouth.
His brothers Alexander and Donald served in the Seaforths; his
brothers Norman and Angus were in the RNR. Donald was killed in action
in 1917. The others survived the war.
