Louis appears in the 1891 census at Callanish, aged 6, the son of Louis (55) and Christina (48) and brother of Alexander (24), Ann (22), Angus (15), Kenneth (10) and Angus Murdo (4).
His brothers Alexander, Angus and Kenneth all served in the Cameron Highlanders; his brother Malcolm was in the RNR. Angus (aged 15 in 1891) was killed in action in 1914.
