On 4 July 1918, Donald Campbell, army pensioner, late of the Camerons,
died suddenly at his home in Arnol. Donald was badly wounded in France
in 1915, and had failed to make a good recovery. He was wounded in thead
and had a narrow escape, the bullet carrying away part of his skull.
Deceased was a great favourite in Arnol and will be sadly missed. He was
23 years old and unmarried.
