Stornoway Gazette, 23 August 1918
We regret to learn of the death of Sergeant William Macleod, 3 North Dell, who was killed in action lately. Willie was a general favourite with all, and his death has caused widespread regret. He served in Egypt with the Seaforths during the Boer War. He leaves a young widow and child.
