Stornoway Gazette
We regret to announce the sad death of Seaman Murdo Macleod, son of Mr Norman Macleod, 38 Back. The report came by wire that an accident had happened on deck, from the effects of which the young seaman died in hospital shortly afterwards. Macleod joined up close on two years ago, and had since been weathering it out in the North Sea and various other parts. Being the oldest of the family, he was practically their sole support and his mother is in bad health. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family.
