Official notification has been received that Pte Alex Macleod,
Canadians, son of Duncan Macleod, Winnipeg, and formerly of 3
Coulregrein, was killed in action in France on 5 September 1917. Pte
Macleod was the brother of William G. Macleod. Deceased was aged 26 and
had been in Canada for about 6 years before the outbreak of war. The
father and another of his sons, John Murdo, are also serving with the
Canadians and the youngest son, Duncan, is in hospital in Mesopotamia,
suffering from fever.
