He is found in the 1901 census at 3 Pauper's House, Bayble with his parents John (48) and Annie (45) as well as his siblings Henrietta (15), Donald (8), Jessie (6), John (4) and Roderick (1).
His brothers Donald, John and Roderick all served in the RNR and survived the war.
Donald was interned in Holland and John was saved from the sinking of HMS Otway.
